11-22-06:To come soon from Roush Performance is yet another variation of Jack Roush’s signature Mustangs. The California Roadster which is coming in early 2007 is a continuation in spirit of the Boyd Coddington California Roadsters that were built in 2003. These cars were set apart from the rest visually with what was then an all new look of a hard contrasting two-tone paint scheme with a tight pinstripe at the match point.
While the new Roush California Roadster Mustang does not carry the Boyd Coddington signature, the car is every bit as striking and tastefully done. The show car that made its debut at the 2006 SEMA show in Las Vegas sported a unique set of new Roush 20 ” chrome wheels that give it a distinct look from other Roush Mustangs. The special body package includes a Roush front fascia, hood scoop and rear deck spoiler — a simpler, cleaner look than the full-on body package of the "Stage" cars.
On the inside, a great looking two-tone Roush custom leather interior really pops. Special “California Roadster” embroidered stitching in body color adorns the seats while the convertible styling bar to tied the whole thing together visually.
When the California Roadster appears in showrooms it will be available in with and without the ROUSHCharger system that bumps power to 415 plus. A variety of color schemes will be available based on the factory Ford colors. Information on standard chassis and package specifications or pricing for the California Roadster were not available at the time of this writing, but Tony Marzalek of Roush Performance is quoted by NMRATV as saying the non-suprcharged version will be in the mid-40k range and the supercharged version will be around 50k.
